Academic programs

General information

Our goal is to provide students with a modern, international-standard education. We believe that in a rapidly changing, dynamic world, appropriate education is the most important element on the path to success. A specially designed school curriculum allows students to cope with academic challenges appropriate to their age, develop all the necessary skills, which will enable them to successfully continue their studies in any educational institution both in Georgia and abroad.

The British-Georgian Academy’s subject curricula take into account and at the same time exceed the goals and objectives defined by the Georgian National Curriculum. At each level, students are faced with the challenge of learning and growth. The members of the academic team are constantly concerned with providing students with quality knowledge and developing relevant skills in each discipline. It is the responsibility of each employee of the Academy to contribute, within the limits of their competence, to the development of students’ knowledge, abilities and a positive attitude towards learning, which will help students to succeed both in the local and international community.

The British-Georgian Academy implements the following programs: International Program (grades 1-12) and Georgian Program (grades 11-12). Accordingly, students have the opportunity to choose either the International or Georgian Program in grades 11-12. The Academy’s educational programs promote not only the intellectual and academic progress of students, but also their holistic development and their formation as responsible, caring individuals.

International program

In order to achieve the holistic development of students and achieve the best academic results, the British-Georgian Academy has chosen two of the most widely recognized international programs in the world: the Cambridge Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Program. Cambridge programs are implemented by more than 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries. While the IB Diploma Program is taught in 3,421 schools in 157 countries. The in-depth curriculum and approaches to teaching and learning of these two programs create an ideal combination and best prepare students for higher education.

Advantages of international education and language of instruction

The language of instruction in the international program is bilingual, which implies the systematic and consistent use of two main languages - Georgian and English – in the teaching process. Some subjects are taught in Georgian, and some in English.  Students with an international education  can use both languages with equal success to interact with others, continue their studies and work in different parts of Georgia and the world after graduation. International education contributes not only to the development of students’ language competencies and verbal intelligence, but also to the raising of international awareness and the introduction and appreciation of different cultures and views.
