At the British-Georgian Academy, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day with many activities. The entire day was dedicated to raising awareness among students about this topic. At the end of the day, students took a commemorative photo with their painted socks and art applications.
World Down Syndrome Day was first celebrated on March 21, 2006. The number 21 represents chromosome 21, and March, as the third month of the year, represents the trisomy phenomenon.
The message of this year’s global campaign is “Breaking Stereotypes.”
