Details of the Scholarship

The British-Georgian Academy wishes to offer the opportunity for new students to join our community by offering a scholarship to children with excellent academic performance and academic curiosity to study at International Baccalaureate programmes (MYP and DP).

The total amount of the Founders grant of British-Georgian Academy is 250000$. A scholarship is a monetary award for the purpose to cover the tuition fee. 

Scholarships are only open to new students.

Scholars will need to demonstrate that they would thrive in the challenging, international environment provided at British-Georgian Academy, and that they could excel when faced with the demands of the IBMYP and IBDP programmes. 

Scholarships cover between 30% and 100% of tuition fees. 

Eligibility

Scholarships are open to students with a passion, talent and aptitude for a range of academic disciplines and commitment to extracurricular activities. 

Any student that is not presently a member of the British-Georgian Academy and would like to apply for the IBMYP (grades 9 and 10) and IBDP (Grade 11) programmes for the academic year of 2022-23 may apply for a scholarship. 

Scholarships are for the full duration of the one academic year and will be reviewed annually considering the student's academic achievements, positive behavior and involvement in  school based projects.

Candidates should be able to speak English fluently and write English to a very high standard.

Selection process 

Students who are interested in applying for the scholarships for the IB programmes should follow the following steps:

  1. Application form 

Prospective scholars should fill in the application form no later than May 1st, 17:00,  and write a letter of motivation (200 to 400 words) in English: https://forms.gle/4tmsMvhg58NhF6B1A

  1. Entry tests

After filling out the application form prospective scholars will receive the schedule of the exams. 

Tests will be conducted in the following subjects:

For the students in grades 9 and 10 
Georgian Language and Literature
English Language Acquisition
Math
Integrated Science or Humanities depending on the choice of a student

For the students in grades 11
Georgian Language and Literature
English Language Acquisition
Math
Science (Biology or Chemistry)
Integrated Science or Humanities depending on the choice of a student

  1. Interview 

After reviewing the test results shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the School Principal and the respective IB programme Coordinator.
